Please ensure that your child comes in appropriate clothing on these days including suitable footwear e.g. trainers.
Change of reading books/ library visit
Your child will bring home a reading folder with a reading record inside. On a Tuesday they will change both their library book and their coloured reading book.
Homework
Home work will be handed out on a Friday. This includes the spelling words and a spelling activity sheet. In addition to this they will either receive a multiplication/division activity or a reading comprehension. Children will have a spelling test and a multiplication test in school on a Friday.
Enrichment
Your child will participate in a 45 minute violin lesson (taught by Sheffield Music Hub), once per week, for half of the year. Families will be able to celebrate their child’s progress in violin with a concert at the end of the series of lessons.
Children in Y3 enjoy a winter walk exploring the local area in Ecclesall Woods, their summer walk takes them a little further away from school where they start to venture out onto Blacka Moor Nature Reserve.
On a half termly basis your child will take part in an outdoor learning day, these days equip them with a variety of skills from tying knotts to building shelters and using equipment such as loppers and saws. Along side this core values such as resilience, friendship and cooperation are certainly enhanced.
We bring to life The Mists of Time learning journey with a visit to Cresswell Crags. This visit allows them to further delve into the mysteries of the Stone Age in Britain. The children enjoy visiting the caves and seeing some prehistoric art work.
